Counselling offers an empathic, safe and confidential environment where you can explore your life issues and your difficulties, especially where you are encountering emotional and mental health  challenges.

Counselling does not direct you or gives you advice. It may challenge you to arrive at your own choices and decision, which will work best for you, thus enabling you to live and enjoy life in a more emotional and mentally healthy manner.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a therapeutic interaction or way of working to address issues that have been persistent and enduring over a person’s lifetime. The issues addressed are normaly psychological and emotional in nature and of no specific kind or degree. Her there therapist will question and explore with you the origing of you present difficulties

Attend Psychotherapy requires a commitment to engage with yourself and the therapist emotionally & psychologically. This commitment and the quality of this engagement, with a therapist, facilitates a deeper relationship where emotions and feelings may be intensified, experience, explored, expressed and processed. This processing along with the experience of being listened to, heard and understood enables therapy to bringing new understanding with meaningful & enduring change.

Working with this enables the client to begin to gain a better psychological understanding of what it is that is disturbing for them and become aware of how unconscious processes affect their lives, as well as develop awareness.

My therapeutic philosophy encompasses being fully present while providing an emotionally warm, safe, non-judgemental therapeutic environment for my client. I endeavour to support my client in engaging with his or her own self in a meaningful and therapeutic manner that may be helpful in facilitating change and may enable and support their personal growth and development.

By providing this therapeutic space in a person centred and non-directive manner I endeavour to be congruent and empathic with unconditional positive regard for each person. While providing this relationship I work to be more than just an active listener, helping the client gain a better psychological understanding of their (his)tory.

My therapeutic approach is psychodynamic, where I work in both a person-centred and humanistic manner. Working in this way enables a person to achiever a better psychological understanding of what is disturbing for them and gain awarness of how their unconscious processes affect their lives. This therapeutic approach places emphasis on the relationship between client and counsellor which facilitates change to take place. Read More
